To connect your Xbox or Playstation to the campus network:
Xboxes and Playstations do not need to be registered in order to access the network. Just plug it into the network jack in your room.
To connect your Nintendo Wii to the campus network:
Because wireless network access in the residence halls is mostly limited to common areas, you'll need to provide your own Wii LAN adapter to connect the Wii console to the network jack in your room. Like Xboxes, Wiis don't need to be registered in order to access the network.
Problems connecting?
In the event that you experience problems trying to connect your game device to the network, please send an email help request to resnet@kutztown.edu and include the following information:
Name(e.g. Eric Cartman)
KU User id(e.g. ecart999)
Hardware (MAC) address(e.g. 01:02:03:ab:cd:ef)
You can follow the instructions below if you're unsure how to determine the hardware (MAC) address of your game device.
|
Finding the hardware (MAC) address of your Playstation 3:
- Power up the PlayStation 3 with no disc in the drive.
- Select "Settings".
- Select the "Network Settings" option.
- When the "Network Settings" list appears, select the first option titled "Settings and Connection Status List."
- The hardware address will be listed under "MAC Address."
Finding the hardware (MAC) address of your Playstation 2:
Newer Playstation 2 models:
- Power up the PlayStation 2 and load the Network Adaptor Startup Disc.
- Once it has loaded, select ISP Setup and press X.
- Once the setup process has loaded, you'll need to agree with the End User License Agreement and press X to continue.
- For connection type, choose Local Area Network (LAN) and press X to continue.
- Select Automatic Configuration and press X to continue.
- At the connection test screen, select Advanced and press X to continue.
- At the Advanced Broadband Settings screen, make sure Automatic is selected. The hardware (MAC) address will be displayed.
Older Playstation 2 models:
- Power up the PlayStation 2 and load the Network Adaptor Startup Disc.
- Once it has loaded, Press X to enter the ISP SETUP.
- Once the setup process has loaded press X to continue. The PlayStation will search for the network adaptor
- After the network adaptor has been found, press X to continue.
- Press X again to continue. Wait while the data is accessed.

- From the Connect Status screen, choose Settings.
- The hardware (MAC) address is the 12-character hexadecimal code listed in the bottom-right corner of the Network Settings screen.
Finding the hardware (MAC) address of your Nintendo Wii: Unless you're able to connect to the ResNet Wireless network from your room, you'll need to purchase a Nintendo Wii LAN Adapter. The MAC address should be displayed on the side of the adapter, but in case it isn't, follow these steps:
- From the home screen, select the "Wii" button in the lower-left corner.
- Select "Wii Settings".
